Abaddon (Apollyon)
In Revelation, a fallen star is given the key to the bottomless pit, releasing a plague of tormenting locusts whose king is named Abaddon in Hebrew and Apollyon in Greek - both meaning 'Destroyer.' He is the angel of the abyss, an instrument of judgment in the last days. His name captures the destructive nature of the powers arrayed against God.
