Zadok
Zadok was a priest of the line of Eleazar who remained loyal to David through Absalom's revolt and later anointed Solomon king, siding with him against Adonijah. For his faithfulness his house was established as the enduring priestly line, replacing the house of Eli. Ezekiel's temple vision reserves the priestly service for 'the sons of Zadok,' making his name a standard of faithful priesthood.

Zadok's faithfulness to David and Solomon led to his line permanently replacing the house of Eli in the high priesthood, and Ezekiel's temple vision reserves the altar for 'the sons of Zadok' alone (Ezekiel 44:15).
The Sadducees of the New Testament likely take their name from Zadok, claiming descent from his priestly family - so his name echoes into the Gospels a thousand years later.
It was Zadok who anointed Solomon at the spring of Gihon (1 Kings 1:39) in a hurried ceremony that decisively ended Adonijah's bid for the throne.
