The Burning Bush

Illustration of The Burning Bush

On the slopes of Mount Horeb, Moses turned aside to see a great wonder: a bush that burned with fire yet was not consumed. From the flame the LORD called his name and commissioned him to deliver Israel from Egypt, declaring the ground holy. The bush that burned without being destroyed became an enduring image of God's holy, self-sustaining presence dwelling among his people.
