The Palm Tree

Illustration of The Palm Tree

The palm was a symbol of victory, righteousness, and rejoicing. Palm branches were waved in celebration, and Israel carried them at the Feast of Tabernacles. When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds cut palm branches and cried 'Hosanna,' hailing him as king. In Revelation, the great multitude before the throne holds palm branches in the final celebration of victory. The righteous 'shall flourish like the palm tree.'
