Blood
The life is in the blood. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. From the first animal skin covering Adam to the blood of Christ - blood is the Bible's price of redemption.
In the scriptures blood stands as the sacred token of life itself, poured out to atone for sin and seal the promises of deliverance. From the earliest cry of Abel's innocent blood rising from the earth, through the lamb's blood marking the Israelite homes at Passover, the theme unfolds that remission of sins requires the shedding of blood. This principle reaches its fulfillment in the blood of the new covenant shed by Christ, which alone provides eternal redemption for those who believe.

The blood of bulls and goats could never take away sins. It could only cover them until the true Lamb came. The blood of Jesus does what animal blood never could: it cleanses the conscience.
We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. The blood is not a symbol of death only. It is the symbol of life purchased and guilt removed.
