What Does 1 John 4:7 Mean?

⁷ Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

What It Means

This verse gently calls us to love one another because love itself comes from God and reflects His very nature. When we choose to love people around us, it shows we belong to Him and are growing in a real relationship with Him. In everyday life, this means offering patience to a difficult coworker, kindness to family members, or forgiveness after an argument, trusting that God gives us the strength to love well and draws us closer to Him through it.
