What Does 2 Peter 3:9 Mean?

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

What It Means

God is not slow or forgetful about keeping His promises, even when it feels like time is dragging on from our view. He is simply patient with us, holding back judgment because He wants everyone to turn away from sin and find life with Him instead of being lost.

This matters each day because it invites us to trust God's timing in our own waiting seasons and to stay hopeful about people who seem far from faith, using that same patience to pray, encourage, and live kindly without giving up on anyone.
