What Does Joel 2:25 Mean?

25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

What It Means

God promises to make up for the years lost to destructive forces, like swarms of insects that wiped out crops and left nothing behind. Those "locusts" represent the hardships, poor choices, or painful seasons that have eaten away at your time, opportunities, or peace.

This matters because it shows God can redeem what feels irretrievably gone. In daily life it invites you to bring your regrets to Him, trust His power to restore, and live forward with hope instead of staying stuck in what was lost.
