What Does Joshua 24:15 Mean?
15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
What It Means
This verse shows Joshua urging the Israelites to make a clear choice about who or what they will follow in life, whether the old idols from their ancestors or the local gods around them, or the one true Lord. He then makes his own firm stand, declaring that he and his household will serve God no matter what others decide.
In daily life it matters because we face quiet pressures from culture, habits, or convenience that can pull us away from what truly matters, and making an upfront decision to follow God brings steady direction, peace in tough moments, and a simple way to lead your family by example.
