What Does Micah 7:18 Mean?

18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

What It Means

God is completely unique because He freely forgives our sins and chooses not to stay angry with His people. He actually enjoys showing mercy more than holding onto judgment, so He lets go of our wrongs instead of keeping score forever.

This truth matters every day because when guilt or shame creeps in after a mistake, you can come to God with confidence that He wants to restore you rather than punish you. It also encourages you to treat others with the same patient forgiveness, building healthier relationships and a lighter heart.
