Matthan
Matthan was a son of Eleazar and the grandfather of Joseph, husband of Mary, named in Matthew's genealogy of Jesus Christ. Nothing beyond his name and place in the lineage - two generations before Joseph - is recorded in Scripture.

Some scholars have proposed identifying Matthan (in Matthew's genealogy) with Matthat (a name appearing in Luke's differing genealogy of Jesus, Luke 3:24), though the two genealogies diverge significantly at this point and the identification is far from certain.
