Gadarene Demoniacs
In the Gospels, Jesus encounters a man possessed by a multitude of demons known as Legion while traveling in the region of the Gadarenes. The demons, upon recognizing Jesus' authority, request to enter a nearby herd of pigs rather than be sent into the abyss, resulting in the pigs rushing into the sea and drowning after the transfer. This miracle illustrates Jesus' supreme power over evil forces, restores the man to his right mind, and prompts the local people to ask Jesus to depart, underscoring themes of spiritual deliverance and the cost of following Christ in Scripture.
