Paul's Prayer for the Colossians
Paul never stopped praying that the Colossians would be filled with the knowledge of God's will, walk worthy of the Lord, and be strengthened for patience with joy.
Paul had heard of the Colossians' faith and love through Epaphras, their faithful minister. From the day he heard, he writes with Timothy, they have not ceased to pray for the church. They ask that the believers might be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that they might walk worthy of the Lord, bear fruit in every good work, and keep growing in the knowledge of God. They pray that the Colossians would be strengthened with all might according to God's glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness, giving thanks to the Father who has made them fit to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
