Depression and being a Christian - is my faith too weak
No. Depression is not proof of weak faith, and the Bible is startlingly honest about believers in darkness. Elijah, fresh from his greatest victory, asked God to let him die (1 Kings 19:4) - and God's response was not rebuke but food, sleep, and gentle presence.
' (Psalm 42:11); Job cursed the day of his birth (Job 3:1); Jeremiah wished he had never been born (Jeremiah 20:14-18) - and Scripture calls these men faithful. Depression is an affliction, not a verdict on your soul, and it commonly has physical and medical dimensions - seeing a doctor or counselor is no more unfaithful than setting a broken bone (see the separate answer on therapy and medication). Keep the smallest disciplines you can manage: honest prayer (even 'Lord, I have nothing today'), light, food, one trusted person who knows.
'He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds' (Psalm 147:3). And if the darkness turns toward thoughts of ending your life, call or text 988 right now - that is not a faith failure either; it is getting help God wants you to have.
