The Word (Logos)

Illustration of The Word (Logos)

John opens his Gospel by identifying Jesus as the eternal Word: 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.' Through him all things were made, and 'the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.' The title declares both Jesus' full deity and his role as God's ultimate self-expression to humanity.
