What Does Matthew 16:26 Mean?

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

What It Means

This verse points out that no amount of success, money, or power is worth losing your soul and your connection with God. Nothing on earth can buy it back once it's gone.

It matters for daily life because it encourages us to put our faith and character first in everyday choices like work, relationships, and goals, so we build a life that lasts beyond temporary gains and brings real peace.
