Peter's Mother-in-Law Healed
In the quiet of Peter's own home, Jesus took his sick mother-in-law by the hand and lifted her from a fever so completely she got up and served them.
After leaving the synagogue at Capernaum, Jesus entered Peter's house and found his mother-in-law sick with a great fever. He took her by the hand, rebuked the fever, and lifted her up, and she was healed so completely and immediately that she rose at once and began serving them. The miracle is notable both for its everyday, domestic setting - inside a disciple's own home - and for the instant, complete strength it restored, a small but vivid sign of the kingdom breaking into ordinary life.
