Publius' Father Healed
Shipwrecked on Malta, Paul was welcomed into the home of the island's chief man. He prayed for his host's sick father and healed him, and soon the whole island came.
After the shipwreck on Malta, the chief man of the island, Publius, received Paul and his companions and lodged them courteously for three days. His father lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux. Paul went in to him, prayed, laid his hands on him, and healed him. When word spread, others on the island who had diseases came and were healed as well. The islanders honored the travelers with many honors and, when they sailed, loaded them with everything they needed, turning a shipwreck into a season of blessing.
