What Does Acts 1:8 Mean?
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
What It Means
This verse is Jesus promising his followers that once the Holy Spirit comes on them they will receive real power to tell others about him. The message starts close to home and then reaches farther and farther out until it touches the whole world.
For daily life it means you do not have to rely on your own strength or clever words to live out your faith. The same Spirit gives you quiet courage to show kindness, speak truth, and point people to Jesus right where you are today.
