What Does Acts 2:38 Mean?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

What It Means

Peter is urging people to turn away from their old ways and be baptized as a sign of faith in Jesus, which brings full forgiveness for their sins and the personal presence of the Holy Spirit to guide them from then on.

This verse shows that real change starts with an honest heart shift toward God, followed by a simple outward step like baptism, and the promise of ongoing help inside us. In daily life it matters because it offers a fresh start no matter what you've done, plus the Spirit's practical wisdom for handling stress, relationships, and choices with more peace and direction.
