What Does Genesis 12:1 Mean?
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy fatherโs house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
What It Means
God was telling Abram to leave his homeland, relatives, and everything familiar behind and follow Him to a new place that would be shown along the way. It was a call to trust God with an unknown future rather than clinging to security and comfort. In daily life this encourages us to step out when God prompts, letting go of what feels safe so we can walk in the good plans He has prepared.
