What Does John 3:3 Mean?
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
What It Means
Jesus is telling Nicodemus that no one can truly know or experience God's kingdom through their own effort or background. A person needs a complete spiritual fresh start from God, like being born all over again, which happens when we trust in Jesus and let his Spirit change us from the inside.
This matters every day because it reminds us we do not have to stay stuck in old habits, guilt, or empty living. Instead we can ask God for a new heart that brings real peace, better choices, and the ability to love others well right where we are.
