What Does Romans 3:23 Mean?
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
What It Means
This verse simply means that every person-no matter how good they try to be-has sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard. None of us can measure up on our own.
It matters for daily life because it levels the playing field: it gently reminds us we're all in the same boat, which helps us stay humble, stop comparing ourselves to others, and treat people with more grace instead of judgment. It also points us toward depending on God's mercy rather than our own performance.
