Wisdom vs. Knowledge

Knowledge is having information and facts; wisdom is knowing how to apply that information rightly, in the fear of the LORD. Proverbs treats wisdom as the goal - knowledge lived out skillfully and righteously.

Point by Point

Wisdom Knowledge
Definition Knowing facts, information, and truth. The skillful, godly application of knowledge to real life.
Starting point Can be gained through study and observation alone. Begins with 'the fear of the LORD' (Proverbs 9:10) - a right relationship with God.
Which one saves? Knowledge alone can 'puff up' without love (1 Corinthians 8:1). Wisdom is personified in Proverbs as calling people to life, not mere information.
