Joseph's Dream About Mary

In the Gospel of Matthew, Joseph, betrothed to Mary, discovered her unexpected pregnancy and intended to end the engagement quietly to spare her public shame under Jewish law. An angel of the Lord then appeared to him in a dream, reassuring him not to fear taking Mary as his wife since the child was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and directing him to name the boy Jesus because he would save his people from their sins. This vision confirmed the miraculous virgin birth and directly fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy of a virgin conceiving a son called Immanuel.
