End times anxiety - I am scared of the rapture and tribulation

Notice something surprising: every time Jesus and the apostles taught about the end, the stated purpose was comfort and steadiness, never panic. 'Let not your heart be troubled... I will come again, and receive you unto myself' (John 14:1-3); 'when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh' (Luke 21:28); and Paul ends his most famous rapture passage with 'Wherefore comfort one another with these words' (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

If end-times teaching consistently produces terror in you instead, something in the teaching or the anxious spirit of it has drifted from the Bible's own tone. For the believer, the end of the story is reunion, not abandonment - 'God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ' (1 Thessalonians 5:9). Jesus also explicitly refused date-setting ('of that day and that hour knoweth no man', Mark 13:32) and commanded ordinary faithfulness instead of frantic watching of the news (Matthew 24:46 - blessed is the servant found simply doing his work).

Practically: limit intake of sensational prophecy content, stay rooted in the Gospels' actual words, and if fear of being 'left behind' loops obsessively, treat it like the intrusive-thought pattern it often is and get help - the answer on intrusive thoughts applies. The Lord you belong to is the one coming back. That is the safest fact in your future.
