Shame and guilt after sexual sin
If you are carrying shame, hear the heart of God clearly: 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus' (Romans 8:1). 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9).
David, after grievous sexual sin, prayed, 'Create in me a clean heart, O God' (Psalm 51:10), and found mercy. God does not want you drowning in guilt but restored - his kindness leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4), and he removes our sin 'as far as the east is from the west' (Psalm 103:12).
Bring it honestly to him, and if the weight is heavy, share it with a trusted, mature believer who can point you back to grace (James 5:16).
