Will I see my pet in heaven

The honest answer: Scripture never directly says - so beware anyone who answers with certainty in either direction. But the Bible says more in this direction than most people expect. Animals are God's deliberate, delighted handiwork - he saves man AND beast (Psalm 36:6), feeds the ravens (Luke 12:24), notices every sparrow that falls (Matthew 10:29), and answers Job out of the whirlwind with a long, proud tour of wild creatures he made for his own joy (Job 38-41).

The redeemed future Scripture paints is not an empty cloudscape but a renewed creation - 'new heavens and a new earth' (Isaiah 65:17) - and its most famous portraits are full of animals at peace: 'The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb... and a little child shall lead them' (Isaiah 11:6-9). Paul says creation itself - not just souls - 'shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God' (Romans 8:21).

So while the Bible does not promise that your particular companion will be there, nothing in it forbids the hope, and the God in question is the one who invented your dog's joy and knows exactly what that animal meant to you. Grieve without embarrassment - the grief is real because the love was real, and every good gift, including that one, came from him (James 1:17). It is safe to leave your pet in the hands of the Maker who was fond of it first - 'his tender mercies are over all his works' (Psalm 145:9).
