What Does Romans 1:16 Mean?
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
What It Means
Paul is saying he has no reason to feel embarrassed or shy about the good news of Jesus, because that message carries God's own strength to rescue and bring new life to anyone who simply trusts in it, whether they are Jewish or from any other background.
This truth matters in daily life because it gives us quiet courage to live openly as followers of Jesus without hiding our faith at work, with friends, or in tough conversations. It also reminds us that God's saving power is available to everyone around us, so we can treat people with equal kindness and point them toward real hope instead of trying to fix things on our own.
