My spouse is not a believer - what do I do

Scripture speaks directly to this. Paul told believers married to unbelievers not to leave: 'If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away' (1 Corinthians 7:12-13), because your presence brings a sanctifying influence into the home (1 Corinthians 7:14).

Peter counseled spouses to win their partners not by pressure but by conduct - 'they also may without the word be won by the conversation [conduct] of the wives' (1 Peter 3:1). Practically: pray persistently (more than you preach), live your faith visibly and humbly, do not nag or treat your spouse as a project, and find your own spiritual community so the weight is not carried alone.

The loneliness of an unequally shared faith is real - God sees it. And do not lose hope: many believers prayed for a spouse for decades and saw God answer (Luke 18:1 - 'men ought always to pray, and not to faint').
