Will we work or have jobs and activities in heaven

Yes - Scripture pictures the eternal state as active and purposeful, not idle. Isaiah's vision of the new heavens and new earth includes ordinary, satisfying labor: 'they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them... mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands' (Isaiah 65:21-22) - work finally free from frustration and futility.

Revelation describes redeemed service directly: 'his servants shall serve him' (Revelation 22:3), and John hears a voice call the redeemed 'blessed... for they rest from their labours; and their works do follow them' (Revelation 14:13) - rest from the curse of toil, not from meaningful activity. Jesus also spoke of faithful servants being given real responsibility as a reward: 'thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things' (Matthew 25:21).

So heaven is not envisioned as static or idle - it is pictured as the full flourishing of purposeful work, service, and creativity, without the sweat, frustration, or decay sin brought into labor (Genesis 3:17-19).
