What will heaven be like and what will we do there
The Bible describes heaven, the eternal state with God, as a renewed creation, not a disembodied cloud-like existence. 'I saw a new heaven and a new earth...
and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying' (Revelation 21:1,4). Believers will dwell in God's direct presence - 'in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore' (Psalm 16:11) - with real, physical, resurrected bodies (1 Corinthians 15:42-44), in a world Isaiah describes as filled with building, planting, and lasting joy (Isaiah 65:17-22), and worship and service before God (Revelation 22:3).
Scripture gives a real but incomplete picture - Paul says 'now we see through a glass, darkly... now I know in part' (1 Corinthians 13:12) - but what it does reveal is a positive, active, joy-filled eternity, not an endless static rest.
