What Does Isaiah 53:6 Mean?
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
What It Means
We all tend to wander off like lost sheep, choosing our own paths instead of following God's good way, which leads to mistakes and brokenness. But God put all our wrongs on Jesus, who took the punishment we deserved so we could be forgiven and brought back to him. This matters every day because it reminds us we're not stuck in our failures-we can turn to Jesus for fresh starts and live with the freedom and purpose that comes from being guided by God instead of our own wandering ways.
