Psychics, mediums, and fortune tellers

The Bible explicitly warns against consulting those who claim to reveal hidden knowledge or contact the dead: 'Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them' (Leviticus 19:31), and mediums are listed among practices God calls 'an abomination' (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). In the New Testament, Paul cast a spirit of divination out of a servant girl who told fortunes for profit (Acts 16:16-18), showing such things are treated as spiritually harmful, not neutral entertainment.

Rather than seeking guidance from a psychic, Scripture directs believers to God, who freely gives wisdom to those who ask (James 1:5), and to godly counsel from mature believers (Proverbs 11:14). If you have consulted a psychic or medium in the past, there is no condemnation in Christ for those who repent and turn to him (Romans 8:1; 1 John 1:9).
